BTN is carried by the major live TV services, but on Sling it usually requires the Sports Extra add-on rather than the base plan. Confirm the tier, not just the service.
Where BTN sits on each service
| Service | Included in | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube TV | Base plan | Single tier |
| Fubo | Base plan | Sports-oriented lineup |
| DirecTV Stream | Choice and above | Not in the entry tier |
| Hulu with Live TV | Base live plan | Bundled with Disney Plus |
| Sling TV | Sports Extra add-on | Not in Orange or Blue alone |
BTN Plus is a different product
This is the distinction that causes the most confusion. Big Ten Network is a linear television channel showing football, basketball and studio programming. BTN Plus is a separate subscription streaming service that carries mostly Olympic sport events that never reach the linear channel, sold either per school or as a package.
Subscribing to BTN Plus expecting Saturday football is the mistake. The football broadcasts live on the channel, and the channel comes from a live TV provider.
Why this page does not quote a monthly price
Live TV streaming prices change several times a year, and promotional rates differ by region and by whether you are a returning subscriber. A figure written today is usually wrong within a quarter. What stays stable is which service carries the channel and which tier it sits in, so that is what this page tracks. Check the current rate on the provider’s own pricing page before you subscribe.
What to check before subscribing
- Which games are actually on BTN. Conference football is split across several national broadcasters, so a specific fixture may be on a network you do not have.
- Add-on pricing. Where BTN sits behind an add-on, the real cost is the base plan plus the add-on, which changes the comparison between services considerably.
- Simultaneous streams. Relevant during a Saturday with several games running at once.
- Cancellation timing. All these services bill monthly without contract, so a season-only subscription is legitimate and common.
